Runoff Surface is a series of tools that used to create the runoff surface of a forming part. A surface body will be created based on the selected edge. The runoff surface tool provides different ways to create the runoff surface, like extrusion, extension, tangent extension, radiate and hole patch.

Procedures

  1. On the ribbon, click STS tab > Unfolding panel > Runoff Surface.
  2. Select "Extrusion" in the runoff surface type.
  3. Select the blue highlighted edge as the Extrude Direction.
  4. Select the yellow highlighted edge as the Edges for extrude.
  5. Click Auto Set Box to reset the size of the bounding box.
  6. Click or to create the surface.

Options:

  1. Extrusion - An extrude surface body will be created along the selected direction.
  2. Extension - A surface body will be created by extending a surface from the selected edge in one direction.
  3. Tangent Extension - A surface body will be created by extending a surface from the selected edge in tangential direction of the base surface.
  4. Radiate - A radiate surface body will be created from the selected edge.
  5. Hole Patch - A surface body will be created to fill up the hole enclosed by the selected edges.

Parameters:

  1. Extrude Direction - Direction of extrude
  2. Edges - Edges used to create the runoff surface
  3. Edge Side - Flip the direction of runoff surface creation
  4. X, Y and Z
  5. L, W and H
