Create Bending and Forming Punches
Bending punches can be created with the bending punch function based on the strip layout. Forming punches can be created by using the extrude and sculpt functions.


Create Bending Punch Procedures


  1. Select the bend faces on the bending stage body and create the bending punch and die body pair with the Bending Punch function.
  2. Use Thicken/Offset function to adjust the thickness and height of the punch and die bodies.
  3. Add shoulder to the bending punch and die bodies with the Boss Shoulder function.
  4. Link the bending punch bodies to the bending stage with the Stage Associate function, then the bending punch bodies will be copied to the strip layout at the station of the bending stage.


Create Forming Punch Procedures

  1. Use Copy Object function to copy the top and bottom face of the forming feature to 2 surface bodies.
  2. One the Punch Level Plane, create a sketch as below to enclose the form area.
  3. Use Extrude function to create a separate body up to the XY Plane.
  4. Use Sculpt function to cut the extrude body with the top surface to obtain the form head.
  5. Use Thicken/Offset function to enlarge the punch size.
  6. Add shoulder to the forming punch with the Boss Shoulder function.



Create Forming Die Procedures


  1. One the Die Level Plane, create a sketch as the forming punch to enclose the form area.
  2. Use Extrude function to create a separate body up to the XY Plane.
  3. Use Sculpt function to cut the extrude body with the bottom surface to obtain the form head.
  4. Use Thicken/Offset function to enlarge the die size.
  5. Add shoulder to the forming punch with the Boss Shoulder function.
  6. Link the forming punch and die bodies to the forming stage with the Stage Associate function, then the forming punch and die bodies will be copied to the strip layout at the station of the forming stage.
